BIO:
Hey there everyone! For those of you who are meeting me for the first time, my name is "Mad Marcii". Let me tell you a bit about my history. I've been tattooing since 1989, begining as an apprentice for a wonderful man in canada by the name of "bear" and the studio was called "In The Bear Tattoo". Around 6 months in to it he passed away from a heart attack which sent me packing back to my home in Portland, Oregon. Not armed with much under my belt other than the sarrow of my loss and retaining the strong desire to continue where I left off. Knowing that this industry is a very difficult one to be welcomed in I knew that I had my work cut out for me. After pounding the pavement I was finally given a chance by Don Milty. He gave me the opening and break I needed. I joined his studio at "Just a Touch of Class" and worked with him and his son Lief for about 3 years and it was time to move on. At that point I was approached by the owner of 21st century tattoo asking me to join the new shop he was building. At the time his goals were the same as mine so I accepted. I worked for 21st Century as the lead tattooist second to Lyon for nearly 11 years, being his longest emploied tattooist he'd ever had work for him. He took me under his wing and shared many trade secrets with me. He was, an amazing person to be around and I will forever be greatful for all he's done for me.

We had talked about the possibility of him passing on his studio to me when he was ready to retire, but shortly after that I had a very serious injury to my right arm. It severed the radial nerve in 3 places leaving it paralyzed for 6 months. The doctors did not know if and when it would ever heal or return to normal. It was time for me to make a very serious and dificult dicision about my future. If I couldn't tattoo anymore I would still be apart of the industry. The only way for me to do that was to become a shop owner myself. It had seem to be a blessing in disquise, for my goals were heading in a differant direction than where I was presently at forcing me to leave 21st century and venture out on my own. I opened "Lady Luck Tattoo"! Not long after that, my arm and hand began to heal and is now in full working order! Thank God!

So here we are, a very happy family that love working together even on the hard days.

Check back to my site, I will be publishing pictures of my work, magazine articles, newspapers and books I've been published in. As well as completely dorky pictures of myself!

Till then stop by the shop and check out my portfolio and the progress of the shop. It's changing everyday.

Cheers to all!
